The challenge

The reseller went live on Dynamics 365 Business Central in late 2025, but the prior partner left them under-configured, under-trained, and unable to administer their own system. Six months in, core reporting was broken and the team could not make changes without going back to the original implementer.

The pain points
A custom job cost report that had been non-functional since go-live
Business impact: It cascaded into delayed sales commission statements and a delayed P&L, with the accountant working around it for six months.
No quoting workflow, commissions tracked in Excel, and 30 to 40 unreadable PDF attachments per sales order

How we solved it
  • Took over the Business Central environment and transferred system administration to the company's own engineer
  • Remediated configuration across item master, financial reporting, commission accruals, quoting, and document handling
  • Migrated the second division off Dynamics GP into Business Central and decommissioned GP
  • Delivered role-based training and ongoing application support so the team could run the system themselves
